Jewelry storage and cleaning

Jewelry should be stored in a dry and dark place. They must be cleaned periodically with a dry cloth to maintain the original shine of the product. Caring properly for your accessories can be a little daunting, but jewelry care is very important to make them last longer. Find the right approach for each ornament depending on its material.

A multi-ring holder is the best option for your rings. This will prevent your rings from rubbing against each other. Some special boxes are also suitable for storing rings. Especially if you have rings with a large stone or crystal. The ring holder can also be used for your rings, but be especially careful not to expose the rings to direct sunlight.

Necklaces are the ones that most often cause concern when they are tangled several together. For this reason, the best way to store them is to hang them in a special place. For heavy, chunky necklaces – jewelry box will be the best option. Similarly with bracelets – use special jewellery organisers in order to avoid entanglement. And use special display boxes for the most special ones.

Foam based boxes are perfect for stud earrings, as well as special organisers can be used.

Genuine leather jewelry should preferably be stored upright or lying down so that it does not take an unwanted shape. It is recommended to store wooden jewelry in a dry place separately from each other to avoid any deformations.

How to clean your jewellery?

It is not recommended to clean or rub. Contact of the products with any liquid (water, beverages, detergents, etc.) as well as creams should be avoided. Do not forget that jewelry is the last accent in your image, and they can only be applied after using perfume or hairspray. Remove jewelry by going to the sauna, shower, pool or swimming.

Here are some tips for cleaning your jeweley:

  • Use warm water, mild soap and rinse the soap away carefully to keep your precious metal jewelry looking as new.
  • Soak tarnished items in warm water and mild soap for 24 hours – use a non-toxic dish soap to really cut through any grease. Once it has soaked, scrub the item lightly with a soft toothbrush before rinsing and drying.
  • For stones, leather and pearls use a slightly damp microfiber cloth to wipe them carefully.
  • Don’t spray perfume directly onto jewelry.
  • Jewellery is your final accent – put your jewelry on after applying any creams or lotions.
  • Remove jewelry before washing your hands.
  • Take off your jewelry before going to the gym.
